Happy Winter Solstice! 冬至快乐!
Wednesday, December 23, 2015Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. Occurs in Dec 22nd in the Northern Hemisphere and June 22nd in the Southern Hemisphere. In the Chinese customs, we eat tangyuan (汤圆)or glutinous rice balls, which symbolises unity as it is a time for family reunion.
Helped my little niece, Maybelle 'shaped' these few last ones when she got tired of making them. All of these were prepared by cousin Susan yesterday. |
